World Vision is a development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
World Vision serves all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender. Our work extends to over 100 million people in nearly 100 countries.
World Vision is dedicated to working with the world’s most vulnerable people.
The ways we serve
Community Development
World Vision partners with poor communities to address the root causes of poverty by targeting critical needs such as food supplies, clean water, healthcare, education and income-generating activities.
By joining in partnership with people in local communities, we provide the resources that enable them with ideas and skills to move from poverty to self-sufficiency. The results of this partnership are sustainable improvements that will help children and their families for years to come.
Protecting children
World Vision believes that children cannot live and thrive unless they are protected from exploitation and violence.
As such, we advocate for their well-being – for a world where children are safe and free from oppression because every child is precious and deserves dignity and respect.
Emergency response
World Vision responds to various kinds of calamities, ranging from natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, tsunamis and droughts, to man-made disasters such as conflicts and wars.
Readiness is paramount to responding quickly and effectively when disaster strikes. World Vision’s strategically located disaster response warehouses are pre-stocked with relief supplies, allowing us to ship vital aid supplies without delay.
Disaster teams in each country also work with communities on disaster preparedness, including risk recognition, evacuations and early warning systems.
